In this hands-on writing class, you will practice writing short fiction that grabs your readers' attention and lures them into your stories. Through individual writing exercises and group discussion of text, you'll learn tricks and techniques that help you find your writing voice (or voices). Among other aspects of craft, you'll work to develop plot, character, story 'arc', point of view, and elements of scene. Be prepared to explore what inspires you to write! Your obsessions, your joys, or that recurring dream about a dry, whispering leafpile. All you need is a sharp pencil and a willingness to experiment.
